Steering Group Activities
The WBP Steering Group meet 3 times a year to set the overall steer and implementation of the UK Biodiversity Action Plan in Wales and the outcomes contained in the Environment Strategy, Wales. The group brings together all sectors in a partnership supported by the work of individuals, groups and organisations locally and nationally. Within this framework, specific task and finish groups are set up to tackle key issues identified by the WBP steering group. For details of WBP steering Group meetings, click on this link.
Wales Biodiversity Week
WBP coordinates an annual week of events held in June each year celebrating the variety and diversity of our wildlife and habitats. Events are free and are held all over Wales, enthusing, educating and enabling members of the public to become wildlife guardians on their patch. This year, Wales Biodiversity Week will run from 5th - 13th June.
WBP Conference
An annual Wales Biodiversity Partnership Conference is held to support, educate and enthuse biodiversity practitioners in Wales. This year conference will take place at Bangor University 15th & 16th September 2010,further information will follow in due course.

WBP Biodiversity Funding
WBP have committed substantial amounts of funding on projects directed towards biodiversity action including; provision of wildlife training days hosted by the Welsh LRC's; transfer of biological records (birds, lichens, marine crayfish) from paper format to electronic format where they can be used in planning and policy decisions; leaflets on management for birds, lichens; butterflies and marine crayfish targeted at groups who's activities affect the success of the species; funding to support wild meadow creation.
